Tree Banding Volunteers Needed

Can you believe it's almost time to band again?  The Fall Crawl is October 25, which will be our only point for tree banding distribution this year. YES, we still need to band our precious trees, even though the city sprayed last year.  Spraying has never conquered the problem in the past, and banding is our next best defense.

Materials will be on sale for $1 per foot at Midwood Park at the Fall Crawl.  Pre-order with your grid captains if you cannot attend.  This year, we have improved, no-mess batting, and we will simplify the process by handing out tanglefoot at the Fall Crawl, which means we need lots of volunteers to distribute materials at the Fall Crawl, plus grid captains to take any pre-orders.  Please let me know if you can help.  Volunteers will receive 20 feet of free material.

National Night Out was a Huge Success!

25th Annual National Night OutPlaza Midwood turns out in droves to help support America's Night Out Against Crime!

25th Annual National Night Out", a national crime/drug prevention event, was a great success here in Plaza Midwood.  About 150 neighbors came out and braved an extremely hot evening to show their support.  We talked about happenings in the neighborhood, future plans of the Neighborhood Watch and just got to know Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Watcheach other. Everyone enjoyed refreshments, giveaways, and door prizes provided by our sponsors Target, Something Classic, Zeda Janes, Villa Francesca Pizzeria, the Charlotte Bobcat's, Harris Teeter, Midwood Baptist, Kilgo United Methodist, Nova's Bakery, and the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association. Thanks to everyone for their support and efforts to fight crime in Plaza Midwood!
