******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

WE ARE EXPERIENCING AN INCREASE IN CAR BREAK-INS IN GRID 14 AND 16.  THE TARGET AREAS SO FAR ARE MARGUERITE TO MATHESON, WITH BREAK-INS ON MARGUERITE, STRATFORD, BROOKE, DANIEL, AND FLORIDA, BUT COULD BE YOUR STREET NEXT.

THEY SEEM TO BE  COMING THROUGH BETWEEN 12:00 AND 3:00 AM.  PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT AND CALL

    911

IF YOU SEE ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS.  DON'T HESITATE TO CALL.  BETTER TO CALL ON NOTHING THAN TO NOT CALL ON SOMETHING.  REPORT ANYTHING YOU THINK IS ODD.  LET THE POLICE DECIDE IF IT IS NOTHING.  THE POLICE HAVE INCREASED PATROLS AND ARE IN THE AREA.  THEY SHOULD RESPOND QUICKLY.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO TALK TO THEM AND THEY WILL NOT COME TO  YOUR HOUSE  UNLESS YOU REQUEST TO SPEAK TO THEM.

THANKS.  ONLY WE CAN KEEP AN EYE ON EACH OTHER.  THE COPS CAN NOT BE EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME------BUT WE CAN!!!

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

Is this the same group as was reported being seen several weeks ago late at night?  Or, not related?

Also, yesterday I was approached in front of my house (on Brook) by a 30ish slender black male, dark pants wearing a long polo type shirt (outside his pants) with green & blue stripes and a cap.  He approached me as I was leaving my home taking my dog for a walk.  I stopped him from coming closer as he continued to try to speak to me.  He kept telling me that he knew the neighbor across the street and other things that were bizarre.  I called my neighbor who got in the car and went looking for him.  And, then my neighbor spoke to a police officer and I have been in contact with an officer at CMPD.  Normally, I would not have given this a thought but it was out of the ordinary and around 1PM in the afternoon.

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

That is VERY SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR and needs to be reported.  Those are common lines from a criminal trying to get information from you or close to you.  PLEASE next time call 911 immediately.  Sounds like he was definately up to no good!!!  It is ok to call 911 and we all need to start using it.  If you feel uncomfortable you need to let the POLICE know before it is too late.  Either the person/situation is gone, or its too late and something bad has happened.

We are not sure if same group as a couple of weeks ago, this time no one has reported anything suspicious while they are in the area, only when the breaks in's are found the next day.

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

Thank you.  Yes, I should have called 911 immediately and I don't know why I hesitated but I won't if there is a next time.  I do appreciate the support of the NW.

Also, has anyone any information on the "alleged" drug house that had dog fighting on Georgia?  I have been in touch with an officer from CMPD and he has requested more information and the name(s) of the owners.

    Thanks again.

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

One of our GC's said something about this.  I will see if I can find out any details.  I am not going to publish anything on here, because it is an open case and we don't need to  let them know what we know but if you email me I will share what I find out.

If its the same ones from the previous incident I'd LOVE to see them busted. I'll be taking some walks in the next few nights. Lets get this trash off the street!

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

This is the Grid (14) I live in and I plan to be up the next couple of nights watching and I have moved my camera to the front pointed toward the driveway.  Using my car as bait I guess.  We will see what happens.

thanks for everyone reading and responding on the message board.  I hope you all feel better about neighborhood watch and what we are doing.

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

    Rob,

I have emailed you some info I know...

But for everyone else...you should pay attention to the activity throughout Grid 14 and Grid 16 on Friday and Saturday Nights.  The traffic, pedestrians, etc are definitley not neighbors.

We have been calling 911 every weekend night for about 4 weeks and their response time has been great.  We call and just say there is suspicious activity and ask if they can do some drive bys.  They always come and make their self known.  The even made an arrest last weekend.

Regardless, anyone in these grids should just step outside your front door on weekend nights and pay attention to what is going on right outside your house...and then call 911.

Re: ******ALERT****** BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR

Thank you for doing your part !!  We all have to fight this element and it sounds like Grid 14 is stepping up.  I am right there with you!!  If you need anything from me please let me know, I am right around the corner.  I will be out again tonight so if you see me come say hello.

I have spoke to our new RAC officer and he says they have increased patrols ( and I have noticed ) in the neighborhood and especially grids 14, 15, and 16 where the incidents have really picked up.  Lets continue to help them out and call 911 anytime you feel something is suspicious.  That goes for the whole neighborhood.

This is our chance to let them know how serious we are about keeping them out.
