The Plaza Midwood Book Club is a fun, friendly book club that has been meeting at members homes here in the neighborhood since March of 2001! Each month, one member chooses a book for everyone to read and hosts the group either in their home or makes arrangements for us to meet somewhere else (another member's home, local coffee shop, etc.). Each meeting consists of social time as well as book discussion, so we get the best of both worlds - fun and fellowship with our neighbors as well as a lively discussion of some great books. Because our members have varied interests, we have read a great assortment of books over the past seven years, from classics like The Great Gatsby and Jane Eyre to new favorites like Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and The Kite Runner to some lesser known and local authors like Judy Goldman and Tim McLaurin. We usually meet at 7:15PM on the fourth Thursday of each month. Our next meeting is Thursday, July 17 where we will be discussing "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. Please feel free to join us (even if you haven't read the book!). If you are interested, or would like more information, please contact us at plazamidwoodbc@hotmail.com or contact our coordinator, Krista Murphy Woitkiewicz directly at kristamark@juno.com
