CELEBRATING 100 YEARS WITH THE VANLANDINGHAM ESTATE

Mark your calendars – It’s PARTY time in the hood again!

Winter Fling 2013 is scheduled for Saturday, January 26th from 6 – 11 PM.

This year we are partnering with the VanLandingham to throw the party of the winter celebrating the 100th anniversary with The VanLandingham Estate. Winter Fling Shuck and Awe will feature an Oyster Roast, live band, the ever popular silent auction, fabulous door prizes, cash bar with local craft beers on hand and a grand time with your friends and neighbors.

Admission is $30 at the door, offering a $5 discount for PMNA members or those who join upon entry. Admission includes some of the best fresh seafood (all you can eat 7:30-9:30pm), Oyster Roast, Shrimp Boil and many delicious side items. There will be something for everyone whether you eat seafood or not. Live Band featuring The Loose Lugnuts, generous door prizes, a cash bar and always lots of fun – all in the fabulous setting of the beautiful VanLandingham Estate. The Fling is open to any and all and is a great way to meet your neighbors and learn more about the great activities and committees sponsored by PMNA. This year the event will be indoors and outdoors, dress accordingly- wear warm clothes! There will be fire pits. Bring your friends all neighbors and non-neighbors are welcome.

A highlight of the evening has always been the Arts and Services Auction Fundraiser for the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association at large -- which successfully raises money for a variety of neighborhood initiatives. We’ll keep you posted of additional updates in preparation for the Oyster Roast and party of the winter through the e-newsletter and on the PMNA website. Please plan to come with open checkbooks and debit cards to help this worthy group – whatever the project, you can bet it’ll be a great time! If you want to extend your party, the Estate will be renting their stunning rooms to neighbors for the night at a discounted room rate. These can go fast, so if you’re interested, call early (see contact info below). The overnight stay includes a truly sumptuous breakfast the next morning.

And… Kilgo Methodist Church is hosting their Fifth Annual Pajama Party – day care for your kids so you can have a worry-free evening. Cost for one child is $20; two or more in the same family is $35. This is a great deal – and you’ll know they’ll be safe and well-cared for. See more details in this issue under the Bulletin Board section.
