The Charlotte Museum of History is developing a new community-based, design education, and advocacy exhibit series called Charlotte Neighborhoods that explores Charlotte’s neighborhoods, past and present. In these exhibits, Museum visitors will discover a rotating Charlotte neighborhood through its historical context, challenges, and potential. The first showcased neighborhood will be Plaza-Midwood! We invite you to share your stories for Charlotte Neighborhoods: Plaza-Midwood.
The Charlotte Neighborhoods: Plaza-Midwood exhibit will include a section featuring the present day neighborhood and its residents. Your responses to the questions on the survey will be compiled for consideration in that section, and will give us a better understanding of issues and factors influencing the development of the neighborhood. Here is a link to the survey http://www.plazamidwood.org/docs/CharMuseumOfHistory_PM_questionaire.pdf
We are also looking for:
o historical photos of the neighborhood and its residents
o contemporary photos of the neighborhood and its residents
o community members who would be willing to meet with us for an interview
