In my opinion, Belmont is still a little behind wilmore in its redevelopment, but the city is about to tear down a public housing project in the neighborhood and begin a huge redevelopment with the assistance of Hope Grant money.
A home in Belmont or neighboring Optimist Park would almost definitely be a good investment, but as far as living there now goes, it would depend on your comfort level in this type of neighborhood in transition.

The above website contains the city's plans for Belmont and Optimist Park if you want to check them out.
: Any thoughts on the changes in the Belmont neighborhood? My husband and I are moving to Charlotte and are interested in living in an old intown neighborhood. I know Wilmore is being remodeled and revitalized to hook up with Dilworth but am curious if similar things are occuring for Belmont?
: My husband and I love to run and have a pup so we're looking for a neighborhood that will be good for both.
: Thanks,
