The kind of people who live in Plaza-Midwood?....

We are pretty much the kind of people who wave, compliment your yard, and work hard to preserve the integrity of their neighborhood. They are the kind of people who look after seniors and who are concerned about how rising prices in the area will impact low income residents.

Midwood folks have volunteered to help clean up the predominately black Belmont neighborhood in an effort to ally with that community for crime prevention, bridge building, and to monitor development in the area.

Far from trying to "keep it lily white" (a racist statement in itself) PM residents welcome respectful, neighborly people of all ethnicities. I wave to the same black couple passing my house on their evening walk. I see East Indian, Latin, Asian and yes those "lily white" people Randie is so afraid of.

The only racially motivated incidents I have experienced have been directed at white residents, and not from any black resident of Plaza-Midwood. I have been called white faggot, had rocks thrown at my car and have been threatened when I refused to pay people to "do yard work".

A neighbor was attacked in daylight by three men who were running from the police. After knocking him to the ground, they became incensed when he yelled at them and began hitting him with a length of wood. These men happened to be black, as were the young ladies who came to his rescue by putting their vehicle between him and his attackers. These young women expressed what kind of people live in PM…black, white or otherwise.

I felt Randie's post to be the only divisive and racially motivated one I have ever encountered on the PMNA website. I found it to be racist, insensitive, and narrow-minded and I am unapologetic for my response. Lastly, Randie, learn to write a complete sentence before accusing others of ignorance.
