Sorry to hear you've fallen on hard times, but keep a good attitude and faith in the Man Upstairs and things will turn around. If you are that close to being disabled there are financial resources out there that can assist you, and help to find you housing. That is what some of our tax money goes for and it may be worth while to speak with the department of social services to see about getting on disablility. As far as feeling like you were targeted by the neighborhood the fact is you got caught in the crossfire. To say Ms Lewis rented to some strange individuals is a huge understatement. The fact is the people she has rented to has been heavily involved in drug use and selling. They have pulled guns on some of the neighbors. There has been at least one gunfight in the front yard of the house that is now demolished that I am aware of. More parties and disturbances than can be counted. More catcalls to the neighborhood women when they are out for a walk with their children( thus making them avoid the area altogether) than can be counted. Not to mention, the houses are not only unsightly but they are also unsafe. 200+ city code violations in each duplex and the best thing for them IS demolition. Had Ms. Lewis kept the houses in good shape and rented to folks that had less propensity to display violence and open drug use on their front porches then we wouldn't be having this blog session. But if demolition means a safer neighborhood for my family then we are all for it. The neighbors weren't clapping for your departure. They were clapping for the end of years of Ms Lewis' refusal to keep the neighborhood a safer, more desirable area. I really do wish you the best and know that if you keep the faith you'll be ok.

: ive lived in my little apartment for over three years, and have seen some rough things here, and im aware that the neighborhood hates these two houses on the corner of pecan and hamorton, and yes theres been a lot of trouble with drugs and drunks who think they can still drive, lol, but ive not been a problem or a menace to either the neighborhood or even my neighbors,and yes ive had a few parties and cookouts here, but no trouble has come out of it, so tell me why was it when they knocked down the corner house, the neighborhood went crazy over it, i felt like crap to see all so happy, now cause of my landlord was not taking care of the houses, mine is scheduled to be torn down and the property has been sold, lets talk about feeling like crap,ive been stuck in a jam now with a dead end job and my girlfriends got the same job, but we are almost homeless and we cant aford to move plus im almost completly blind now, ive been disabled for over a year and had to go back to work to keep what i do have, and now i see the house coming down and our car finaly is dying as well, and we have kittens that we love, who most houses or apartments wont allow, i realy have enjoyed my time here and wished the neighborhood wouldnt have seen me as part of the trouble, so when my house comes down, i hope you all take in thought that maybe i had a little luck better than the not so good im having now,you all have seen me around and not but a couple have ever spoken to me or my girlfriend, oh im sorry a couple of times drunks driving by have tried to pick her up,but just know that im a good person and have had the worst of luck thanx to some, not all but i have one neighbor whos worse than a nosy crackhead, on the other corner from me is a house whos owners are extremly nosy and have never learned where the trouble around here realy came from, she knows who she is, but i hope her and her family have a good christmas,i hate to leave the neighborhood, i was born and raised over off herron ave, on a small street called card, and i wish people were nice as they were over there,ever since ive moved in ive spoken to every persons who has walked by my house day or night, ive decorated for every holiday except this one, while all the neighbors were clapping and yelling i was standing out there almost in tears one empty apartment had all my christmas decorations and family pics, and tools and furniture, and excedra, so why wasnt i clapping with you,im sorry that all of you all hate these houses, and i agree they do look like crap and for years, have attracted nothing but trouble,i didnt want to move here, but i left an ex wife and didnt have anyhting but my clothes and a van,but it soon had tranny problems, and i had to sell it, knowing i was losing my sight, i was fighting to do the things you all take for granted, but i do see your side to all of these two houses, but i needed you all to see me, not the houses, mrs lewis has rented to some of the strangest people ive ever met, but i too thought i was in hell, then i met the girl of my dreams, whos made me happy and who has the heart the size of texas, she was once feeling sorry for mrs lewis, now we have a lot of pain, from her, she sold the property without telling us that our time here was over, then the tranny in our car slowly is saying bye bye, and while you all are having a beautiful christmas, we both will be working our jobs full speed, trying our best to find a reasonably prised home to move to quick, befor i come home to see my whole world crushed by a crane, with all my belongings and cats in here probably,but enjoy and merry christmas to all of you, and we still hold the upmost respect for all of you, and ill remain with this news letter, hopefully not hated as well by all of you.
