On Thursday, May 25 at 5:30 PM, join Charlotte Trolley, Inc. for a leisurely walking tour of one of our city's historic streetcar neighborhoods, Plaza-Midwood. Even for long-time residents, this informative stroll reveals much about the history, the landmarks and the renewed appeal of the neighborhood. Tour participants will gather at the Penguin Drive-In at 1921 Commonwealth Avenue and be led on the tour by Stewart Gray, Assistant Consulting Director of the Historic Landmarks Commission. This is one of a series of Preservation Month tours sponsored jointly by Charlotte Trolley, Inc., Historic Charlotte and the Levine Museum of the New South.

Cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for members of the sponsoring organizations or groups of 10 or more. Space for the tour is limited, so call early to sign-up. Please wear comfortable walking shoes! The tour will begin promptly at 5:30 PM and typically lasts 60 minutes. For more information and to reserve your spot, call 704-333-1887, ext. 501.

Trolleys built Charlotte's earliest neighborhoods - moving people around town and bringing neighbors together daily in their community. Today, Charlotte Trolley, Inc. continues to bring people together as neighbors, to connect with history, learn and have fun on Charlotte's favorite mode of transportation. Charlotte Trolley, Inc. is supported, in part, with a basic operating grant from the Arts & Science Council.
