Now Announcing: Midwood Gives Back – Saturday August 1st
The Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association is sponsoring a new event this year – Midwood Gives Back! In our current economic times we are very fortunate to live in such a great community where we all have witnessed and experienced the generosity and helping hands of our neighbors. The PMNA would like to take a moment to give back to the surrounding community, to allow others to feel the passion and energy that makes this neighborhood such a great place to live.
The day’s events include:
- A Neighborhood Rummage Sale to support Crisis Assistance Ministry,
- An organized volunteer morning at Second Harvest Food Bank, and
- A Pet Food Drive coordinated by the PM Neighborhood Watch.
PM Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Wins Local Award
The Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association is proud to announce that Rob Willis, the coordinator of the PM Neighborhood Watch, was presented with a 2009 Neighborhood Leader of the Year Award at the Charlotte Neighborhood Symposium on May 16. Rob has been instrumental in organizing and re-energizing the Watch, which has in turn helped to decrease crime in the area and made the group a model for others to emulate. The symposium and awards program was tasked with bringing together and acknowledging neighborhood residents and other leaders who share a goal of building a better community. Please join us in congratulating Rob on this well deserved award!
